This lightweight and compact ultra-wide angle zoom lens the EFS series is designed so that the benefits of the APS-C size image sensor - a short focal distance of the lens back and a small image circle - uses. The inner focusing system with ring-type USM works quickly and quietly, and is ready for full-time manual focus even in AF mode. The lens mechanism is designed so that it was based solely on EOS Digital SLR cameras can use which are designed for use with EF-S lenses. The lens is equipped with a special fixing indicator and a protective rubber clamp, so that inadvertent installation attempts on other EOS SLR cameras is prevented and no damage incurred at the camera.
